Our Mission since Florida Geographic Alliance (FGA) was established in 1987 with the support of the National Geographic Society of Washington, DC, is to encourage the inclusion of more geography learning in the K-12 and post secondary curricula. Additional goals are:

teacher instruction as to the nature of geography, stressing its methodological character

instruction in teaching strategies

content instruction

development of teaching/learning materials

sponsorship of geography education workshops, institutes, conferences and individual instruction

instruction in the application of technology to geography teaching and learning

encouraging research in geography education
