  • Monday, 11/18/02:
    Theme: Stewardship Monday

    Activity: Have various grades adopt part of the schoolyard. Students will make posters about their particular area and do a daily cleanup or undertake a beautification project for their area.

  • Tuesday, 11/19/02:
    Theme: Environmental Tuesday
    Quote: "Humans and plants have much in common. Both enjoy sunlight, music and tender loving care." Laura Stuchinsky, quoted from The Future is Abundant
    Activity: Have students working in pairs and take an inventory of some of the trees on the school campus.

  • Wednesday, 11/20/02:
    Theme: GIS Wednesday
    Quote: "If you are thinking one year ahead, sow seed. If you are thinking 10 years ahead, plant a tree. If you are thinking 100 years ahead, educate the people." Chinese Proverb
    Activity: GIS Environmental Day. Plan in advance or have someone in the city that uses GIS come and speak to students.

  • Thursday, 11/21/02:
    Theme: Recreational Thursday

    Activity: Students will draw a picture that displays their favorite recreational site and write why they enjoy it.

  • Friday, 11/22/02:
    Theme: Luminary Friday

    Activity: Students will create and design their own lighthouse.
